Samir Iqbal, Program Director for the NSF SBIR/STTR Programs and the Partnerships for Innovation Program, delievered the keynote for the SECS 2022 Faculty Research Expo on October 7. Iqbal spoke about funding opportunities through the NSF to enhance industry/university collaborations. Several CSE faculty met one-on-one with Iqbal to discuss specific initiatives or project proposals.
Iqbal is also a Professor and former Department Chair of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. He has served the NSF as Program Director since 2021.
